Within the EU Advisory Group DCFTA pillar the advice on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures is provided in line with international and EU standards, policy advice and support in relation to Sanitary and Phytosanitary reforms and preparations for the negotiations of the DCFTA.

Particular emphasis is given to the ENP Action Plan in the area of SPS and the Food Safety Strategy once it will be approved.

The EU Advisory Group is working in close cooperation with the State Service for Food Safety, which is under the direct supervision of the RA Prime Minister, providing policy advice and support in relation to the priorities of the on-going SPS reform process, regarding effective implementation and enforcement of legislation, practical performance of food and feed safety control system, issues of animal and plant health, laboratory capacity and assistance in preparation and exercising of training programs for the competent authority.
